Clear terms, no surprises.
By booking with BecomeAfish you agree to these terms. They're written plainly so every family knows exactly what to expect.
Lesson sets
Lessons are booked as sets — you choose your frequency (1–5 lessons per week) and duration (2–8 weeks) at checkout. Full payment is due at the time of booking. Lesson sets are non-transferable and must be used by the registered swimmer(s).
Unused lessons do not expire as long as your account remains in good standing and your assigned instructor is available. We will notify you of any scheduling changes with reasonable advance notice.
Cancellation policy
Cancellations made with at least 24 hours' notice will not be charged. Lessons cancelled with less than 24 hours' notice, or missed without notice, are forfeited from your lesson set.
If BecomeAfish or your instructor must cancel a lesson, you will receive a full credit with no penalty. We will work with you to reschedule at the earliest available time.
Refund policy
Refunds for unused lessons are available within 30 days of purchase, less a $25 administrative fee and the cost of any lessons already delivered. After 30 days, lesson credits are issued in place of monetary refunds.
Refunds are not available for lessons already completed. If there is a billing error on our side, we will correct it immediately and issue a full refund where applicable.
Expected behaviour
We ask all families and participants to treat our instructors with respect. BecomeAfish reserves the right to end a lesson set without refund if a client or family member behaves in a manner that is abusive, threatening, or unsafe toward our staff or other participants.
Instructors follow a strict code of professional conduct. If you have concerns about the conduct of an instructor, please contact us immediately.
Limitation of liability
BecomeAfish instructors are certified professionals who take every reasonable precaution to ensure swimmer safety. By booking lessons, clients acknowledge that aquatic activities carry inherent risk and agree that BecomeAfish is not liable for injuries resulting from failure to follow instructor direction or from undisclosed medical conditions.
Please ensure all relevant health and medical information is disclosed during onboarding. A safety waiver is required before lessons begin.
Updates to these terms
We may update these terms from time to time. Continued use of BecomeAfish services after changes are posted constitutes acceptance. We will notify registered clients by email of any material changes. Last updated: May 2026.
